Prudential plc Completes Share‑Repurchase Transaction with JP Morgan Securities

Prudential plc announced on 17 August 2026 that it had concluded a series of share‑repurchase transactions with JP Morgan Securities. The purchases were executed in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the company’s 2025 Annual General Meeting and pursuant to a previously announced arrangement dated 6 January 2026. All transactions were carried out on the London Stock Exchange and complied with the relevant listing rules as well as the Hong Kong Code on Share Buy‑Backs.

Between 10 and 14 August, Prudential purchased approximately 1.8 million ordinary shares. The transaction prices were broadly consistent across the five days, with the volume‑weighted average price falling within a narrow band around the mid‑point of each day’s trading range. The company will cancel the repurchased shares, leaving 2.5 billion shares in issue and the same number of voting rights.

The share‑buy‑back program, launched in January 2026, has so far resulted in the purchase of just under 55 million ordinary shares, at an average price of about 1.09 pence per share. Prudential maintains dual primary listings on the London Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with secondary listings in Singapore and on the New York Stock Exchange through American Depositary Receipts. The company is a constituent of the Hang Seng Composite Index and is included in both the Shenzhen‑Hong Kong and Shanghai‑Hong Kong Stock Connect programmes.

Prudential’s core businesses cover life and health insurance as well as asset management across Greater China, ASEAN, India and Africa. The company reiterated that it is not affiliated with any other entity bearing the Prudential name.
