Corporate Update: Airbus SE Strengthens Growth Outlook and Shareholder Returns

Airbus SE announced a refreshed mid‑term outlook aimed at reinforcing profitable growth and enhancing shareholder returns. Senior management confirmed that the company intends to lift its operating profit substantially over the next few years, targeting an adjusted EBIT between €12 billion and €13 billion by 2029. This guidance aligns with the firm’s broader objective of improving cash conversion and sustaining a robust free‑cash‑flow trajectory.

In parallel, Airbus’s board approved a €5 billion share‑buyback programme to be implemented over three years, signalling a renewed commitment to returning value to shareholders. The company also reiterated its guidance for the current year, maintaining a focus on steady performance amid ongoing demand for its commercial, helicopter, and defence product lines.

During an investor update held in London, CEO Guillaume Faury outlined the company’s strategy and highlighted the expected growth in aircraft deliveries, particularly in the A320neo family. Airbus also secured orders from airlines such as Shohin Airlines and Philippine Airlines, adding to its commercial fleet programme.

Beyond commercial aviation, Airbus Defence and Space announced its participation as an anchor investor in a new European defence technology fund, E2D, designed to support advanced technology developers across the continent. This investment underlines the company’s broader engagement in the defence sector and its intent to strengthen European technological independence.

Overall, Airbus is positioning itself for sustained profitability, enhanced shareholder returns, and continued expansion across both commercial and defence markets.
